paranoia

PARANOIA, 2021

Paranoia is a fashion editorial concept inspired by Dario Argento cult 70s horror film - Suspiria. The film delivers a dramatic, mystical and visually striking murder mystery, that evokes feelings of horror and paranoia

 

The feelings of anxiety, fear, despair and paranoia will be captured in Suspiria’s signature red, green and blue colour tones to make the nightmares look beautiful.

 

Therefore, the fashion styling will be an interpretation of a girl entering a retro horror film set, where she will experience her personal nightmare, that’s equal parts gore and gloss. 

DISCLAIMER: The concept of this shoot holds no intention to glorify mental illness in any way but to rather raise awareness and sympathy to more of us struggling in the post- pandemic world and visualise this issue, taking inspiration from the film Suspiria (1977).

The AIM of the project was to develop a 360 business plan proposal for a sustainable apparel start-up.

* business plan was submitted as the Honours Project for my BA Fashion Business degree at Istituto Marangoni London

 

Launching in 2022, the fashion start-up is mainly aiming to develop a unique, tech-driven, educational, and transparent online shopping platform focused on building a like-minded community. 

 

In the fight against fast fashion, the business will be releasing locally produced season-less capsule collections, offering sustainable and considerably affordable product range. In the exploration of circularity, the brand will be introducing one-of-a-kind upcycled collection events at the end of each year.

Based in Lithuania, where technology sector is thriving, and eco-consciousness is rapidly growing, the brand will target Gen-Z and young millennials based on their strong online presence. 

While the most common definition of the term ‘utopia’ is simply a perfect place with a perfect community, the concept is way broader and can be perceived differently. 

These days, it is usual to be judged about the ‘utopian mindset’, because people tend to limit themselves with the realistic thoughts.

However, Project Utopia believes in the power of setting the goals beyond reality if they actually have a purpose.

Also, fashion industry is one of the most challenging fields that is highly impacted by global economic uncertainty as well as distinct trends and industrial changes.

Undoubtedly, digital transformation is challenging and risky due to the high costs & complexity. However, incorporating digital trends is becoming fundamental rather than optional in order to stay relevant and adjust to the shift in consumer behavior.
